Corporate or rock music. Small lounge or impressive arena. Lectures or musical performances. There are different styles of live events. This is an industry that requires multifunctional solutions. To support creativity, efficiency and reliability in the most diverse settings, Barco's product portfolio has a full set of tools, peripherals and a small number of additional functions. Strengthen your fleet with these six excellent projector peripherals for live events.

Motorized frame for easy stacking and hanging

Does the architecture of the client's site require you to hang the projector in the air? Or do you need more projectors to cover the entire canvas? Check out Barco's electric rental frame, which provides a sturdy and flexible solution for stacking and hanging projectors.

The multifunctional frame is compatible with all commonly used truss fixtures and has a single-point installation option. You can easily hang the projector on the truss upright or upside down. With seamless hybrid projection enabled, the frame projector can rotate around its x, y, and z axes. And you can stack multiple projectors, which is very suitable for those multi-channel production and 3D projection mapping.

All in all, the optional motorized kit allows quick, safe and remote adjustments via the remote control or local buttons to perfect the image.

Rangefinder and camera kit

The success of projection does not only depend on the pixel quality of the projector. Finding the right combination of throw distance, screen size, aspect ratio, and corresponding lens will help improve your visualization. Therefore, UDX and UDM projectors have an optional easy-to-use combination rangefinder and HD camera kit.

The distance meter can measure the distance from the projector to the screen canvas. The result is displayed on the small digital readout of the projector, but it can also be viewed remotely via Ptoolset. Using this information, you can position and install the projector in the best position relative to the screen. The integrated laser pointer helps to position the projector to the center of the screen.

The kit also includes a high-definition camera that can be used to remotely monitor images. Log in through Ptoolset or Web application and quickly check the appearance of your projection in real time, which is convenient for troubleshooting and monitoring.

Suitable for all configurations of lenses

Each project has its own requirements. Barco projectors provide a variety of professional high-quality glass lenses and first-class horizontal and vertical lens shift functions for you to choose from, and its excellent versatility is suitable for almost any configuration. Ultra-short or telephoto, oblique or direct shot-you can always find the lens you need to provide excellent visual effects.

All Barco lenses can be easily installed without compromise. For example, Barco’s 90° UST lens is uniquely designed to be used in conjunction with a rental lens frame without any fuzzy corners or obstacles on the screen. Install equipment into the show, not the other way around.

It’s good to know: When we launch a new projector for the rental market, it doesn’t mean you need to discard your existing lens inventory and invest in new lens equipment. Since 2010, our TLD lens series has a variety of throw ratios and can be reused for new products in the projector series. Let you benefit from your past investments time and time again. With optional external shutters for UDM and UDX, you can protect the lens from lasers, sunlight, and other external hazards, thus protecting the life of the solution.

Use the Barco lens calculator with built-in contrast checking to find lenses that meet the requirements of the customer's event. Choose the projector, screen size, brightness and projection distance, and we will show the correct lens to use.

Built-in fiber optic solution for reliable IP video distribution

Many activities and devices today use fiber-optic cables to transmit signals, but usually rely on external fiber-to-video converters, which can lead to increased costs and increased points of failure. Barco's fiber optic solutions have native 4k60p processing capabilities and can cover long distances through integrated video distribution without the need for external fiber optic extenders and converter boxes. The fiber card uses a proven and powerful broadcast standard and supports SMPTE 297M for fiber SDI. Inserting this card into the projector can save money, get rid of the complexity of redundancy and avoid signal loss due to weak components in the link.

Projector management suite for optimized fleet management

Barco Projector Management Suite is an IoT solution that optimizes your fleet management. Cloud-based storage of projector usage data and light source runtime reduces time-consuming and error-prone manual management in your fleet warehouse.

Through the real-time dashboard, you can track the projector's operation and environmental conditions anytime and anywhere, so as to conduct more effective equipment analysis and proactive troubleshooting. This means that you can get all the information that can be used for immediate remote assistance and maintenance before the projector fails, so as to save the programs you have worked for several months. In addition, by using APIs, data can be easily integrated with your own tools and current processes.

The Projector Management Suite can help you make the most of your rental fleet while saving time and money.

Barco Projector Management Suite is based on a 3-level subscription model. Check out this page to see all the features and start your 90-day free trial.

External cooler reduces the temperature at the lowest noise level

Our UDM and UDX live event projectors have advanced integrated laser cooling to prevent overheating. But what if you work in extreme conditions such as deserts? Or, what if the projector is used in a warm indoor environment (such as an auditorium) that requires a minimum noise level? This is where our external cooler comes in.

The external cooler is an independent cooling device that can be placed up to 24m away from the projector itself. You put them in different rooms, or even different floors, so as not to hinder the scene layout and the audience. Therefore, the fan in the projector does not need to work hard to maintain a healthy working temperature, and as the fan speed decreases, the noise can be reduced by up to 5dB. We also provide rigging frames for two external coolers suitable for setups that require truss installation.

When using equipment in a silent box or installing multiple projectors in a projection tower, the cooler will also come in handy, which makes heat dissipation more difficult.

You can always find more information about the accessories available for the projector at the bottom of the corresponding web product page.
